Fitness for Mental Health is proud to announce our partnership with Alex dos Santos as he puts his Boots to the Bruce and hikes the Bruce Trail in support of Mental Health.
This August 15th, 2019, cheer Alex on as he sets out on his journey from Niagara Falls, Ontario. Not wasting any time, Alex hopes to complete his hike by August 31st, 2019, in Tobermory, Ontario. That’s an incredible 855km’s in just over two weeks! Alex invites anyone passionate about fitness and mental health to follow his journey on social media. Or, if you’re eager to cheer him on and hike a portion of the trail yourself, feel free to join him as he makes his way through a section of the trail that’s close to you.
Alex is a Certified Personal Trainer nearing the completion of his Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo. Physical activity is an important part of Alex’s daily life, helping bring focus to his sometimes anxious mind. He also enjoys challenging himself. Last summer Alex cycled across Canada, meeting many new friends along the way. At the end of his epic cross-county cycle, Alex decided that he would choose a new challenge for himself each year, aligning it with a cause close to his heart. Being from Oakville, Ontario and growing up with the Bruce Trail in his backyard, so to speak, choosing to hike that trail as this year's goal came easily. Alex also discovered Fitness for Mental Health and spoke with founder, Jodie Becker -- It was a perfect fit.
Fitness doesn’t always need to mean intense physical workouts. It can be as easy as walking in nature. Easily accessible by all who seek it, bringing peace to the mind and the body.
Let’s all join Alex this August and put our Boots to the Bruce in support of Mental Health!
