    Are you living with depression or anxiety? Maybe you’ve recently been diagnosed, and are struggling to find the right treatment that works for you?

    We can help. We work with clients in our One-on-One Fitness Support sessions in a more focused setting to develop a structure that is flexible and unique to your personal challenges.

    FMH Fitness Support Specialists are certified fitness professionals who have been trained to recognize and understand the various barriers that those experiencing mental health challenges have encountered; indeed many of us have faced them ourselves.

  • Group Fitness Support

    Is your organization looking to bring transformative fitness experiences to your users or members? FMH can provide someone who is professionally trained, understands the challenges of each individual and can effectively integrate across a team of professionals working towards the same goal.

Fitness Support FAQs

  • Along with traditional fitness programming and exercise prescription, our certified personal trainers have been specially trained through our Fitness Support Specialist program to implement mindfulness tools, habit & lifestyle coaching and other forms of physical-based therapy.

    We are equiped to work within a team of health professionals to help achieve the best possible outcomes. This could include family physicians, clinicians, social workers, psychotherapists, nutritionists, manual therapists and other wellness professionals.

  • Currently Fitness for Mental Health does not have the required resources to provide financial assistance for our One-on-One Fitness Support program, though it is something we are passionately striving toward in the future.

    As a nonprofit organization, we operate our programs in part through corporate sponsorship, grants and funding from a variety of sources. We are actively seeking donations and sponsorship to help expand our outreach. If you or anyone you know can help, please visit our Donations page here.

  • Group Fitness Support sessions can be done anywhere at anytime, both in-person and online virtually, with or without traditional fitness equipment on hand. Our goal is to break down the barriers that organizations often face when working with individuals living with mental illness, working to create plans that are specially taylored for their success.
